Aims and Scope
The Journal of Biochemicals and Phytomedicine (JBP) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to publishing high-quality research at the interface of natural products, biochemistry, and therapeutic sciences. The journal’s mission is to advance scientific understanding of bioactive compounds from natural sources, from their fundamental characterization to their application in medicine, biotechnology, and industry.
JBP welcomes submissions in the form of Original Research Articles, Review Articles, Short Communications, Letters to the Editor, Perspectives, and Editorials. The journal covers a comprehensive range of topics, including, but not limited to:
Ethnobiology and Traditional Medicine – Integrating ethnobotany, ethnopharmacology, and ethnomedicine to scientifically validate and explore traditional knowledge.
Phytochemistry and Natural Product Chemistry – Isolation, structural elucidation, biosynthesis, and analytical profiling of bioactive compounds from plants and other natural sources.
Pharmacology and Toxicology – Preclinical and clinical evaluation of the therapeutic efficacy, mechanisms of action, and safety profiles of natural products and herbal medicines.
Medicinal Chemistry and Drug Discovery – Development of natural compounds as lead molecules for new pharmaceutical agents, including rational design, synthesis, and optimization.
Biotechnology and Nanotechnology – Application of biotechnological methods (e.g., tissue culture, metabolic engineering) and nanoscale platforms to enhance the production, delivery, and efficacy of bioactive compounds.
Biochemistry and Chemical Biology – Investigation of molecular interactions, biochemical pathways, and biological mechanisms of natural compounds.
Toxic Biochemicals and Cytotoxic Agents – Studies on toxic compounds, cytotoxicity, and their biological effects, providing insights into both safety and therapeutic potential.
The journal emphasizes rigorous methodology, mechanistic insights, and scientific credibility in all published work. By fostering a clear link between fundamental and applied sciences, JBP provides a platform for high-impact research that advances the discovery, development, and application of biochemicals and phytomedicines.
